Khagrachari Hill District (3 Upazilas):

  • Mohalchari Upazila (Mohalchari Sadar & Maischari Union)
  • Guimara Upazila (Guimara Sadar & Halfchari Union)
  • Manikchari Upazila (Manikchari & Tintohori Union)
Participants 528 direct beneficiaries (marginalized women) including 48 youth ambassadors.
Project Purpose To increase socio-economic empowerment and community commitment to climate justice through the right to information in targeted districts.
Major Activities 1. Strengthening Legal and Social Environment for RTI:
  • District and Upazila RTI Monitoring Committee meetings (60 total).
  • Right to Know Day celebrations (5 events) with local and national stakeholders.
 

  2. Improving Service Delivery and LGI Effectiveness:

  • Six inception workshops at Upazila level with government and CSO representatives.
  • 30 meetings with LGI representatives, Union Council Secretaries, and UDC Entrepreneurs.
  • 30 Information Booth Camps promoting access to public information.
  • 30 Open Budget Declaration events ensuring transparency and accountability.
 

3. Empowering CSOs, CBOs, Women, and Youth:

  • Formation of 48 Community Change Maker (CCM) groups (women groups)
  • 384 quarterly courtyard meetings with CCM groups
  • 20 quarterly youth ambassador meetings.
  • 5 RTI mainstreaming meetings with CSOs and community networks.
  • 15 awareness campaigns on RTI and climate justice.
  • 12 youth ambassadors mobilized to coordinate and motivate CCM group
