Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management in the CHT (Pilot Phase):

TUS implemented the Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management in the CHT – Pilot Phase from July 01, 2007 to September 30, 2010, funded by MISEREOR, Germany, covering 10 villages in Dighinala Upazila.
The key activities of this phase focused on strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations (CBOs) and local people in developing Community Action Plans on Natural Resource Management (NRM). Activities included capacity-building workshops, leadership and strategic planning refreshers, and Local Capacity for Peace (LCP) sessions. The project facilitated resource mobilization for Community Solidarity Funds, raised awareness on gender equality, inheritance rights, women’s rights, and sustainable development, and revitalized traditional and indigenous knowledge systems in NRM through community-led agro-forestry and tree plantation initiatives.
