Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management in the CHT (Phase-3)

Trinamul Unnayan Sangstha (TUS) implemented the Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management System in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Phase-3) project from July 1, 2017 to September 30, 2019, funded by MISEREOR, Germany. The project covered 20 villages in Kobakhali Union (Dighinala Upazila) and Kamalchari Union (Khagrachari Sadar).
The key activities included community capacity enhancement through training on multi-tier orchard management, honeybee keeping, and organic fertilizer and bio-pesticide production. The project promoted non-toxic, eco-friendly farming practices and supported livelihood diversification such as poultry rearing for women, vaccination camps, and farmer field days. It also developed community water systems like gravity flow schemes, earthen wells, and seed banks.
Additionally, TUS facilitated coordination meetings, exposure visits, and awareness days, produced IEC materials, conducted outcome and impact assessments, and engaged in monitoring, auditing, and evaluation by external experts.
