Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management in the CHT (Phase-4)

Trinamul Unnayan Sangstha (TUS) implemented the Protection and Promotion of Natural Resource Management in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Phase-4) project from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2021, funded by MISEREOR, Germany. The project covered 20 villages in Kobakhali Union (Dighinala Upazila) and Kamalchari Union (Khagrachari Sadar).
Key activities included community capacity building and mobilization through training on bio-pesticide and fertilizer production, multi-tier orchard management, honeybee keeping, homestead gardening, poultry and vaccination, and awareness sessions on NRM best practices. It also promoted climate-resilient livelihoods using traditional knowledge and supported community-managed watershed initiatives.
Additionally, TUS strengthened community linkages with local government institutions, conducted awareness events (e.g., WED, WWD, IWD), developed IEC materials, and facilitated monitoring, staff development, and project audits.
