Promoting Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Government Delegation Visits NbS Initiatives in CHT
On 27 November 2025, Trinamul Unnayan Sangstha (TUS) organized a government stakeholders’ visit in Dighinala under the project “Promoting GESI-Responsive Nature-based Solutions for Enabling Resilience in CHT.” The project is supported by ICIMOD, with technical support from HELVETAS Bangladesh, and many of the NbS practices applied here are adapted from successful models in Nepal.
The team visited the Bacha Merung Community Learning Center (CLC) and several NbS-based agricultural fields in Baradam, Shankhala, and Headman Para, observing climate-resilient farming practices such as cabbage, eggplant, cucumber, and tomato cultivation.
Farmers reported improved soil fertility, lower production costs, and better climate resilience through NbS approaches. Government officials expressed appreciation for the progress and noted opportunities to integrate these sustainable models into future planning and budgeting.
TUS highlighted that NbS-based agriculture strengthens production while ensuring long-term environmental, soil, and water health. The visit concluded with discussions on scaling up NbS models across the region.
